A letter to you

Letter from Makayla

June 2026

Hello,

Some of you have been here for a very long time.

Some of you may have only just found FCPlus.

However you arrived here, I'm really glad you're reading this.

For the past eleven years, FCPlus has been a huge part of my life. It started with one simple idea creating comfortable clothing for plus-size women, so getting dressed could feel easier, freer, and more like themselves.

Because of you, that little idea became something much bigger than I ever imagined.

I've received messages from women who felt more confident, more comfortable, or simply happier wearing our clothes. Those moments are something I'll always carry with me.

But after eleven years of constantly creating, planning, packing orders and running a business, I realised I was exhausted.

Not because I stopped loving FCPlus.

But because somewhere along the way, I forgot to take care of myself too.

So I stepped away.

During that time, I travelled, rested, read more books than I had in years, met new people, and gave myself permission to slow down.

And little by little, a new idea began to grow.

Wear whatever you want.

For years, I've always said this.

Now I realise those words have never only been about clothing.

They're about life.

We don't have to follow someone else's timeline.

We don't have to become who people expect us to be.

We get to choose what feels right for us.

Fashion is still something I deeply love.

It always will be.

But from now on, FCPlus will also become a place where I share the things that have inspired me beyond fashion — books, conversations, workshops, ideas, and little moments that remind us to slow down and reconnect with ourselves.

I hope this becomes more than just a clothing brand.

I hope it becomes a space that reminds you that you're never walking through life alone.

We're all figuring things out.

And if your path looks a little different right now, that's okay.

Mine does too.
